DC62-00142G Water Inlet Valve for Samsung Washer
What does the DC62-00142G water inlet valve do?
This water inlet valve assembly controls the cold-water supply entering the washer when a fill is requested. DC62-00142G opens to allow cold water into the washer and closes when the fill is complete.
Common symptoms of a failing water inlet valve
Possible symptoms consistent with a faulty cold-water inlet valve include no cold-water fill, a slow cold-water fill, an unusually long fill time, a fill or water-supply error reported by the washer, or water entering the tub when it should not because the valve no longer seals correctly. These are possible causes only: a closed tap, a kinked or clogged hose, a blocked inlet screen, low household pressure or a control fault can produce similar symptoms.
How to check the DC62-00142G water inlet valve
Confirm the household cold-water supply and tap first, then check the fill hoses for kinks or restrictions and inspect the inlet screens for debris where accessible. Inspect the valve body and hose connections for leaks, cracks or mineral build-up. With the washer disconnected from power, the solenoid coils can be checked electrically according to the applicable Samsung service information. No manufacturer-published resistance or test voltage is confirmed for this exact assembly, so no numerical value is stated here.
DC62-00142G technical notes
Samsung washer water inlet valve assembly, cold-water side, Samsung reference DC62-00142G. Manufacturer and distributor catalogs list it as a Washer Water Inlet Valve Assembly; Canadian distributor data identifies it specifically as the cold-water valve.
Installation & safety for this water inlet valve
Shut off the water supply and disconnect the washer from power before starting. Document the position of each hose and electrical connector before removal so the replacement is connected the same way. Check hose seals and connections during reassembly and verify there is no leak on the first fill. Confirm the exact washer model compatibility before installing this assembly.
Disconnect electrical power and shut off the water supply before any work on this valve. Expect residual water in the hoses and valve when they are disconnected. Any diagnosis with the washer energized should only be performed by a qualified person.
DC62-00142G error codes
Related Samsung fill codes, depending on model: 4C, 4E, nF — washer not filling / water not entering correctly. Samsung diagnostic routines also use 4C when a hot or cold inlet-valve check fails.
