Appliance Parts North — Offer Policy
This Offer Policy is the operational offer policy referenced by the Seller Terms. It explains what an Offer is, what it must contain, how it is moderated, and how sellers may manage it. Buyer-facing wording for each offer type is in the Condition & Compatibility Disclosures; photo rules are in the Photos & User Content Policy.
1. Offer and APN Part
1.1 An APN Part is APN’s catalog record for one part reference (one record per reference per language). APN creates and maintains it; sellers never edit it.
1.2 An Offer is one seller’s proposal to sell a specific item under an APN Part. Several sellers may hold Offers under the same APN Part.
1.3 A reference entered by a seller is never presumed OEM. Whether APN has verified a reference is APN metadata and does not depend on, or bind, the seller.
2. Ownership
You may only create Offers for parts you own or lawfully control and are able to deliver.
3. Price and quantity
3.1 Price is set by the seller in CAD. Prices must be complete and not misleading.
3.2 Quantity must reflect real stock. Quantity 0 makes the Offer unavailable.
4. Condition, origin and test status
4.1 Origin: OEM or compatible. Condition: new, open-box, or used. Test status: not applicable or tested working.
4.2 Offer types allowed at launch: new OEM, new compatible, open-box OEM, and used OEM (tested and working). Open-box compatible and used compatible are not allowed at launch and are refused at creation.
4.3 A used OEM part must be declared tested and working, and the seller must describe the test method. Tested never means universal compatibility; compatible never means OEM.
5. SKU
An optional seller SKU may be entered for the seller’s own tracking. It is not an APN Part reference and is not used to identify the part.
6. Photos
Real photos of the actual item, white background preferred. Mandatory for open-box and used parts. Up to 12 photos, JPEG/PNG/WebP, 10 MiB max each; APN resizes to 2000 px. See the Photos & User Content Policy.
7. Warranty and returns
7.1 Each Offer states either a commercial warranty (with details) or “no commercial warranty”. APN sets no commercial warranty duration. “No commercial warranty” never removes or reduces legal warranties or other mandatory buyer rights under applicable law. Paid extended warranties are out of scope of this version.
7.2 The seller’s return policy version in force at the time of sale applies, together with APN’s platform-level service standards stated in the Seller Terms (subject to applicable law: response to a claim within 2 business days; hand-off to the carrier within the handling time stated on the Offer — 1, 2 or 3 business days; escalation to APN after 5 business days without seller response; return costs on the seller for seller error, wrong item or description error; buyer remorse per the seller’s policy plus mandatory rights; refunds processed through the Platform promptly and within mandatory deadlines). Mandatory rights under applicable law always prevail.
8. Fulfilment
8.1 Fulfilment is by shipping only at launch; pickup is not currently available. The Platform computes a live Canada Post rate from the seller’s origin postal code (kept private) and the packaged weight required on each Offer (dimensions optional); the buyer pays the computed rate at checkout. The seller does not choose the carrier and does not set the shipping cost. A historical Offer that is not available for shipping is displayed as “Not available for shipping” and cannot be purchased.
8.2 Each Offer states a handling time chosen by the seller — 1, 2 or 3 business days — displayed as “Ships within N business days”, the delay before the shipment is handed to the carrier; carrier transit time is additional. The seller is responsible for packaging and for handing over the shipment within the stated handling time; a tracking number is required to mark a shipment as shipped.
8.3 Public location is city and region/province only. Exact addresses and the origin postal code are never displayed; the origin postal code is used only to compute shipping rates.
9. Inventory accuracy and duplicates
9.1 Sellers must keep quantity and availability current, and use Pause or Away when they cannot fulfil.
9.2 One Offer per APN Part per condition/origin/test-status combination per seller. Duplicates may be rejected or suspended.
10. Seller responsibilities and misleading claims
10.1 The seller is responsible for every statement in the Offer: description, highlights, defects, donor appliance or model, install tips, test method, warranty details.
10.2 Prohibited: describing compatible parts as OEM; hiding defects; claiming tests that were not performed; fake or borrowed photos; guaranteed-fitment claims without basis; prices or warranties that will not be honoured.
11. Compatibility representations
An APN Part reference is not a guarantee of fitment with any specific appliance model. Sellers may state fitment only where they can support it, and must clearly separate their own claim from APN’s catalog data.
12. Moderation — the clean path
12.1 Moderation is automatic by default; human review is the exception.
12.2 Clean path: resolved reference + valid data + no exception → automatic approval → automatic activation attempt (subject to plan capacity).
12.3 APN never applies human moderation solely because of an Offer’s type, condition or test status: New OEM, New Compatible, Open-box OEM, Used OEM, tested working, or an older part is not, on that basis alone, sent to human review. Buyer-facing disclosures for each type remain (section 16).
12.4 Exceptions triggering human review: ambiguous reference, data conflict, correction requested from the seller, reports or suspected abuse.
12.5 The same rule applies to changes after promotion: a class B change (section 15.3) is re-evaluated automatically; only a real exception leads to human review or a correction request. There is no rule that “every class B change requires human intervention”.
13. Statuses, rejection, correction requests
13.1 Statuses a seller may see: Draft, Submitted, Needs correction, Active, Paused, Suspended, Archived, Rejected.
13.2 Needs correction: APN asks the seller to fix specific data; the Offer is not active until resubmitted and approved.
13.3 Rejected: the Offer cannot be activated as submitted (for example, disallowed type, unresolvable reference, prohibited content). The seller may create a new, compliant Offer.
14. Suspension
14.1 APN may suspend an Offer for policy breach, misleading claims, reports or abuse, following the graduated enforcement of the Seller Terms (warning → correction required → forced pause → seller suspension → termination), with reasons, notice and a chance to respond. Fraud, safety issues, serious abuse or conduct presenting a significant risk may lead directly to an immediate measure. ELECTROFIABLE inc. is subject to the same rules.
14.2 Capacity suspensions (plan floor after payment failure) are automatic, applied newest-activated first, never delete the Offer, and are reversible.
15. Pause and resume, editing, removal
15.1 Sellers may pause and resume their own Offers at any time (resume subject to plan capacity and to acceptance of the current Seller Terms).
15.2 Class A — immediate change, no human review: price, quantity, seller SKU, non-substantial descriptions and narratives (key selling points, additional description, installation tips), public approximate location (city/region), and adding photos. Validation, ownership checks, versioning where the architecture provides it, and existing gates always apply.
15.3 Class B — change on the same Offer with automatic re-evaluation: test status, test method or explanation, warranty (declared or not, and its details), known defects, donor appliance or model, replacing or removing photos, and any other substantial buyer-facing change. Clean path (no exception detected) → no human review; the updated Offer stays on its path. Real exception → review or “Needs correction” workflow. An Offer always keeps at least one real photo. Buyers always see the current declaration.
15.4 Class C — immutable structure: the APN Part, origin (OEM/compatible) and condition (new/open-box/used) cannot be changed after promotion. To change any of them, the seller archives the Offer and creates a new one. Test status and test method are not part of this immutable structure (they are class B).
15.5 Archive/remove: sellers may archive their own Offer at any time. Archiving is terminal.
16. Buyer-facing disclosures
Each active Offer displays origin, condition, test status, warranty statement, handling time (“Ships within N business days”) — or, for a historical Offer that cannot be shipped, “Not available for shipping” — seller city/region, and the applicable disclosure text from the Condition & Compatibility Disclosures. Seller narratives are displayed as seller statements, distinct from APN catalog data.
