Appliance Parts North — Condition & Compatibility Disclosures

Short buyer-facing texts shown on Offers, grouped by offer type. Referenced by the Offer Policy and the Seller Terms. Wording is intended for display near the price and “add to cart” area.

1. Disclosure texts by offer type

The offer types accepted on APN are: New OEM, New Compatible, Open-box OEM and Used OEM. Open-box compatible and used compatible parts are not accepted; an offer of those types is refused at creation. The verification status shown on a used OEM Offer is “Tested and working”; new parts carry the status “not applicable”.

1.1 New OEM

“New part declared by the seller as original manufacturer (OEM). Sold in its original condition. The part reference is APN catalog data; the OEM claim is the seller’s statement. Check your appliance model before ordering.”

1.2 New Compatible

“New part declared by the seller as compatible (aftermarket), not original manufacturer (OEM). Compatible does not mean OEM. Fit and performance are the seller’s statement. Check your appliance model before ordering.”

1.3 Open-box OEM

“Open-box part: packaging opened or damaged, part unused or lightly handled, as shown in the seller’s real photos. Original manufacturer (OEM) origin as declared by the seller. Review the photos and the seller’s notes for any missing elements.”

1.4 Used OEM — Tested and working

“Used original (OEM) part declared “Tested and working” by the seller. Read the seller’s test method. A working test does not guarantee compatibility with every appliance model, nor a specific service life. Real photos show the actual item.”

2. Rules that apply to every Offer

2.1 Tested ≠ universal compatibility. A test confirms the part functioned under the seller’s described method. It does not confirm it fits or works in your appliance.

2.2 APN Part reference ≠ fitment guarantee. APN’s catalog record identifies a part reference. It is not a promise that the part fits any specific appliance model. Confirm the reference against your appliance’s documentation or the manufacturer’s information.

2.3 Compatible ≠ OEM. A compatible part is made by a third party. It is never to be presented or understood as an original manufacturer part.

2.4 Seller statements vs APN data. Origin, condition, test status, test method, warranty, defects, donor model and install tips are statements by the seller. The APN Part title and reference are APN catalog data. APN does not verify a seller’s specific item.

2.5 Warranty. Sellers declare either a commercial warranty with its terms, or “no commercial warranty”. Where an older Offer carries no warranty declaration, no warranty statement is shown; the legal warranties are unaffected. APN sets no commercial warranty duration. “No commercial warranty” never removes or reduces the legal warranties or other rights you hold under applicable law . Paid extended warranties are not offered in this version.

2.6 Returns. The seller’s return policy version in force at the time of purchase applies, together with APN’s service standards (Seller Terms: response to a claim within 2 business days, escalation to APN after 5 business days without response, return costs on the seller for seller error, refunds promptly and within mandatory deadlines), and always subject to your mandatory rights under applicable law.

2.7 Current declaration. A seller may update the test status, test method, warranty statement, known defects or donor model of an existing Offer; such changes are re-evaluated automatically by APN. What you see on the Offer is the seller’s current declaration at the time you view it. Origin, condition and the APN Part never change on an existing Offer.

3. Future separation: reviews vs technical feedback

When reviews are launched, APN will keep two channels apart:

  • Verified transaction reviews — from buyers who completed a purchase, about the seller’s service (accuracy, packaging, delivery, communication).
  • Technical compatibility feedback — observations about whether a part reference fitted or worked with a given appliance model. This feedback concerns the APN Part and is not a rating of the seller.

Neither channel turns a seller statement into an APN guarantee, and neither channel is affected by the seller’s plan.
